Artist Bio: Lee Ann DeLeo

Lee DeLeo is an oil painter and native of Georgia.  In 2001 she received her B.F.A from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in studio art. A lover of both art and science she later received a degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, in Geology. She currently resides in Savannah, Georgia as both Painter and Research Associate at the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography.  As an artist her proximity to the ocean and sprawling salt marshes has led to her most recent body of work.  She pulls from her love of water and its ability to constantly move, and subsequently reflect and change color to produce water dominated landscapes and scenes with a dreamlike quality.
